Knowledge of Self: How It Impacts Teaching and Learning

This panel explores the significance of understanding ourselves and our histories, individually and collectively to learning and teaching. It explores how our beliefs, mindsets, and mental models become the programs that organize our thoughts and actions and how these lead to policy, procedure, and practice in classrooms, schools, and districts. Through personal and professional exploration, the participants unpack the process of personal empowerment through knowledge of self as critical to transformative teaching and to unlocking the full intellectual potential of Black and Brown students.
